Alicia Geilenberg - Drakiotes
Alicia K Geilenberg - Drakiotes has lived her entire life surrounded by New England landscapes and lifestyle. A representational painter, she professes art is a life-long journey. Her created works of art reflect a culmination of the German Expressionist and Realist Traditions. Early training included studies and printmaking under John Roberts. Most recent works are accomplished in soft pastel and oil paint monotypes. These works reflect impressionistic style and are inspired by native New England landscape and agriculture. Plein Air works and studies are favored above all others by this artist who began painting in oil under the guidance of Robert Neuman, a nationally recognized painter and art instructor. Drakiotes works in varied mediums but has a preferred interest in the soft pastel medium. Attending workshops in recent years under Barbara Makanowitzky and Robert Carston, Drakiotes' works incorporate a colorful palette which presents motion and feeling in which vibrant colors and flexibility of application allow greater expressiveness. She strives to effect a painterly quality in her works. This varied artist enjoys pastel, oil, monotype printmaking and archives paintings and prints that are bold and rich in color, yet reflective of nature and New England lifestyle.
