Alicia Geilenberg - Drakiotes

Alicia K Geilenberg - Drakiotes  is a  representational painter, she professes art is a life-long journey.    Her created works of art reflect a culmination of the German Expressionist  and Realist Traditions.  Early training included studies in printmaking  under John Roberts and painting under instruction of Robert S. Neuman. 
Most recent print works are accomplished in oil on archival corron rag paper.   Paintings in oil and pastel are accomplished in a painterly style  with a colorist palette. These works reflect impressionistic influences and are inspired by native New England landscape and agriculture.
   Plein Air works and studies are favored above all others by this artist .   Drakiotes works in varied mediums but has a preferred interest in the soft pastel and oil mediums. 
Attending workshops in recent years under Barbara Makanowitzky, Robert  Carston and Richard McKinley,  Drakiotes'  works incorporate a colorful palette which presents motion and feeling in which vibrant colors and flexibility of application allow greater  expressiveness. She strives to effect  a painterly quality in her works.
   This varied artist archives paintings and prints that are bold and rich in color, yet reflective of nature and New England lifestyle.
